Please note that this service is usually not considered to be a guide for the person who is seeking a diagnosis and points to the testing site. Use one. If exposed elsewhere you will not get tested and there will be tons of people at risk.
Designed by a team of 15 developers working remotely for one week, this data should be seen as a useful tool for those working on a national emergency response and COVID-19 plan, or efforts to ensure that tests nationwide are designed to address specific needs, to provide a complete picture of a specific virus outbreak.
It can be very useful to people – when used in conjunction with screening and telecommunications guidance, make sure that the test support case is prioritized and complies with all of the inspectors’ health safety guidelines.
The plan is to expand this to cover the outside world, says Kemmendo, who can get creative thanks to the team for increasing the value of the situation. Currently, location information is folded and verified manually, but the team is working on some infrastructure, which will help reverse the process as more test sites come online.
The efforts and data that have taken place are not cheap, Chemendo said, and although not the only sponsor, it works with bills from Google Cloud Platform and AWS integration to create the backend. The group is currently trying to get suggestions on how to better measure and reduce the manual load by keeping up with the new inventory and their GitHub project is here.
